Dr Vikas Singhal

Deputy Director

Dr. Vikas Singhal joined IGNOU as Assistant Regional Director on June 13, 2011 at IGNOU Regional Centre, Nagpur. He served there till October 12, 2018. At present, he is serving at IGNOU Regional Centre Delhi-1 w.e.f. October 15, 2018.

He has his Masters’ in Environmental Sciences and Doctorate Degree with major in Environmental Sciences and minor in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology from G.B. Pant University of Agriculure and Technology, Pantnagar. He has also worked as DBT-Post Doctoral Fellow at Department of Biotechnology, I.I.T. Roorkee and Research Associate at D.R.D.E. Gwalior. He has also served as Lecturer at Department of Environmental Sciences, Institute of Biosciences and Biotechnology, C.S.J.M. University, Kanpur (2004-2005) and Junior Works Manager (Chemical/ Environment) with Indian Ordnance Factories (2005-2011) before joining IGNOU.

He has also completed P.G. Diploma in Environmental Management (PGDEM) from I.E.M. Lucknow (2002), P. G. Diploma in Distance Education (PGDDE) from IGNOU (2012), P. G. Diploma in Human Resource Management (PGDHRM) from IGNOU (2017), Masters in Distance Education (MADE) from IGNOU (2018) and Online Certificate course ‘Communication Technologies in Education’ on SWAYAM (2018). He has also being recipient of UGC-NET, UGC-JRF and ASRB-NET. He has published many research papers in journals of national/ international repute and also chapters in some books and popular articles and also worked as peer reviewer. He has also being resource person at OFIL Kanpur, UGC-Academic Staff College, R.T.M. Nagpur University, Nagpur and UGC-Academic Staff College, S.G.B. Amravati University, Amravati and Guest Faculty at Molecular Biology and Genetic Engineering Deptt., R.T.M. Nagpur University, Nagpur. His area of research interest includes bioremediation of industrial wastewater and recalcitrant organochlorine compounds, biotechnology development for biopulping, biobleaching, and learner support services and use of ICT in distance education.
