Achievements
  • To enhance the reach as also to increase opportunities of higher education established 10 new Learner Support Centres for different Programmes in the year 2013-14 making total number to 72. Also activated 35 new Programmes in the existing Centres.
  • Registering consistently increasing enrolment. During the year 2014, total admission figure (fresh and re-registration) is 40384, showing an increase of approximately 15 per cent.
  • Organized 27th Convocation for the Regional Centres of Delhi-NCR
  • 10196 students of Regional Centre Delhi-1 were awarded Degrees
  • Highest number of gold medalists (15) from Regional Centre Delhi-1
  • For strengthening support services, more than 20 meetings organized with Coordinators, Programme In-charges, Academic Counsellors and faculty Members of various Schools
  • Actively participated in the Placement Drive in collaboration with Central Placement Cell, IGNOU, HQs.
  • Extended Contact Programme (ECP) is a judicious mix of both – face to face component and teleconferencing mode which provide varied perspectives, deep insight and practical knowledge about the Programme. Participants of ECPs were provided resource materials by the Internal and External Resource Persons. Regional Centre conducts PCPs for PGDHE and PGDSLM Programmes on a regular basis. In 2013 and 2014 the ECPs were organized at per details below:
  • PGDHE: May 20 to 29, 2013 and May 16 to 25, 2014
  • PGDSLM: September 16 to 19, 2013 and May 12, 15, 16 & 19 2014
  • With decentralization of distribution of study material, the Regional Centre effectively distributed material to all the students registered for January 2013, July 2013, January 2014 and July 2014 cycles.
  • In order to ensure expeditious availability of the material to the students, multi–pronged strategy including on-the-spot distribution, distribution during Induction Meetings and regular dispatch was used. Distributed more than 1.25 Lakh packets of study materials to the students, in person.
  • Actively Involved RC staff, LSCs staff and learners in Swachcha Bharat Abhiyaan
